Court Kacheri Review

TVF's almost every series teaches life lessons in one way or another. From Panchayat, Kota Factory to Tripling Aspirants, Gullak, and many more, every series has a different narrative through which you get some valuable lessons that make you wanna rethink your life choices in a good way. One such TVF series is Court Kacheri. It's not just centered around a courtroom drama, but the narrative purely focuses on how to follow your heart.

Must-Watch Courtroom Drama Series

Court Kacheri begins with Param Mathur (Ashish Verma), the son of the advocate 'god' Harish Mathur (Pavan Malhotra), who does not want to live his life as an aspiring advocate. But you know how most of the Indian household's mentality works: 'If father is a doctor, then son will also be a doctor.' But nobody asks that son what he wants to do. That is the case for Param. He somehow manages his everyday life, assisting his father in his cases. While his son does not want to be an advocate, his father, Harish, is known as the 'god' of that Sarjanpur district court. Every aspiring advocate wants to work with him, and when there is confusion, people reach him for a solution.

But Param does not like his father, as the latter kind of pressures him to practice law. This scene almost reminds me of Abhishek (Jitendra Kumar) from Panchayat, who initially hated being a Sachiv Ji at Phulera village. Meanwhile, Param wants to go to Dubai and become a manager at a hotel. But he does not have a Hotel Management degree, so he illegally makes a certificate, but gets caught by the police.

Another important character, Suraj (Puneet Batra), is one of the aspiring advocates and is senior to Param. He follows every word Harish says, but can't say it openly that he wants to practice law from the front. However, Suraj is the partner in crime for Param, and he helps the latter whenever he gets in trouble.

One day, when Param needs a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the police, he gets into trouble as he had previously been caught for taking an illegal certificate. This time, Suraj also couldn't help him, but Param let his heart out and started saying that he hates being with his father, who pressures him to become an advocate even though he does not want to. So he wants to go to Canada to get rid of everything.

This scene is quite emotional and depicts how thousands of students just pursue what their parents want, ignoring their aspirations. This leads to several stories of 'give-ups.' Until they take an extreme step, those parents don't get it. In this series, Param reveals everything one day to his father. From how he does not like to be called 'Harish's son,' hates practicing law, to getting a pass for Canada, Param expresses his feelings, leading Harish to realize that he should let his son do whatever his heart wants.

Court Kacheri shows Param's journey as he grapples with his family's legal history, his own desires, and the messy realities of the justice system. It demonstrates the conflict between tradition and personal preference, as well as the challenges of navigating a flawed system. When Param realizes that Harish was doing wrong to the law system in the divorce case, he takes a step and sends some documents to the opponent's advocate, which goes against Harish.

There comes a twist. When the documents were shown to the Judge, Param came to know that those were not real and that the opponent party had fooled him, and that his father had always been right. This changes the whole scenario. Param realizes that his father has always tried to help people, so he made a scene and helped his father in the case.

Following this, Param, who was never actually sure about what to do in his life but only knew that he did not like his father, decides that he can handle the law. In bits and pieces, the series mirrors Panchayat's Abhishek's life of how he did not want to continue being a Sachiv Ji and focus on his CAT entrance exam, but eventually he fell in love with Phulera village and its residents, and stayed there as Sachiv Ji.

Talking about acting performances, Ashish as Param, Pavan as Harish, and Puneet as Suraj warm hearts. Their natural acting makes the plot more real. Most Indian students can relate to Param's story, but they should take the lesson of how to stand firm in their beliefs and discuss their aspirations with their parents, and ultimately follow their heart.

The writing and direction once again prove why a TVF series is one of a kind. It is not superfluous but always depicts a narrative that is relatable to daily life. The setting of Court Kacheri is also natural, and it explores themes of generational conflicts, ethical dilemmas, societal commentary, and legacy vs self-discovery.

Court Kacheri Verdict

Court Kacheri is another heartwarming TVF creation. The series highlights the motto: 'Follow your heart' through a courtroom narrative. It's a refreshing take on a father's established legacy and a son's desire for self-discovery. While the world is busy with romantic and action-thrillers, TVF's Court Kacheri balances intense courtroom scenes with comedic elements and relatable situations that surely warm hearts.
