Demon Slayer Entertainment District Arc episode 8 review: Get ready for fireworks and waterworks

Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc - Tengen Uzui, Kyojuro Rengoku.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba

Story:

Tengen Uzui continues his grand fight with the newly introduced demon. Inosuke and Zenitsu, who were on their way, make a grand entry to help him beat the two demons in Entertainment District. Tanjiro, who was dealing with another demon in his own sister Nezuko, also joins them in the battle.

Review:

Demon Slayer Entertainment District Arc had some brilliant episodes so far, after a lot of meh ones. However, nothing comes close to episode 8, which is dedicated to everyone's beloved, Kyojuro Rengoku.

The episode begins on a dramatic note which barely helps the story move forward. Thus, this time, the episode barely manages to capture your attention.

However, the post-introduction scene promptly piques your interest once again. Tengen Uzui's backstory us explored and it will blow your mind, while giving you a perspective on why he thinks and acts a certain way (the perv one is still unforgivable and not justified, though).

Tengen's special powers in the form of fighting skills are explored well even in this episode. It would be safe to say that thankfully the makers did justice to the ninja side of him. There are fireworks when he fights, quite literally. It is a scene you would want to go back and replay to quite understand what is really going on because it is that grand! He manages to impress you once again with his quick-on-the-feet thinking.

Inosuke's entry in the episode is just like him - smashing down barriers! Tanjiro joins force and thus, the scene becomes larger-than-life.

One thing this episode gets right is setting the momentum. The music plays while exploring what the scenario looks like. As soon as things get serious, you also do because of the silence and powerful dialogues following it.

Tengen praising his squad is unexpected and a welcomed change. The makers smartly make him the important character in this series, when he finally deserves the praises. Him saving Tanjiro is one of the most important scenes of the episode and is executed well. Tanjiro's never-give-up attitude is back and honestly, it is one of the best things to happen to the franchise, which is once again proven through the episode.

Zenitsu is undoubtedly one of the most powerful Demon Slayer of the team and his power is explored in the best way possible. He wins your heart not only through his fighting skills but also how he respects little girls (even if there would be an ulterior motive if he were awake at the time).

There is a moment in the episode where you are bound to get confused since the plot moves too fast but it is not completely distracting. Nonetheless, it is grand which makes it a worthy watch.

The post-credit is something you wouldn't want to miss. The episode is quite special in numerous ways but the last scene tribute will leave you speechless and emotional.

Verdict:

You cannot be ready for this episode but it is one that is dedicated to the beloved Rengoku. Tengen, Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu give more than ever to the episode and it becomes larger-than-life. At the same time, this episode takes an emotional turn. The last scene, especially, is not for the weak-hearted Demon Slayer fans.
