Mass Jathara Review:

Mass Jathara has been written and directed by Bhanu Bhogavarapu, who is known for hit films like Samajavaragamana now streaming on OTTplay. He makes his directorial debut with a commercial drama presented in a typical mass format.

He showcases Ravi Teja in yet another cop role, but the only difference here is that the hero is a railway cop. The backdrop, action, and emotion look fresh on screen, but sadly, the presentation feels repetitive and offers nothing new.

The hero-villain conflict and the sincere cop fighting all odds to stop crime have been seen in many films before, and the same happens here as well. There are a few twists executed well, but apart from that, nothing stands out.

Ravi Teja seems to struggle to carry the film on his shoulders and looks disinterested at times. The confrontation scenes, comedy, and fights are decent but appear forced in the latter half. Sreeleela’s role comes with a solid twist, and she looks good on screen.

The action blocks are impressive and packed with a proper mass touch. Ravi Teja’s energy is top-notch, and his dance moves are superb. His chemistry with Sreeleela works well. However, the emotional scenes feel formulaic and fail to blend smoothly into the narrative.

Mass Jathara is clearly made for the masses, with a few comedy and fight scenes targeted at that audience. As mentioned, Sreeleela gets a good role, and her transformation by the end is convincing. Ravi Teja delivers what is expected from him, and his energy partly saves the film.

Naveen Chandra steals the show with his negative role; his look, screen presence, and dialogue delivery are impressive. Rajendra Prasad and Naresh have passable roles.

Bheems Ceciroleo composes some good songs, and the background score is effective. The production values are rich, and the money spent is clearly visible on screen. The dialogues and editing are neat.

In conclusion, Mass Jathara is a routine commercial entertainer with a few engaging moments. The comedy, romance, and action work to an extent, but the overall narrative remains predictable and familiar.

Mass Jathara Verdict

Ravi Teja films on OTTplay

On the whole, Mass Jathara is a typical commercial drama that is aimed at the masses. While Ravi Teja and Sreeleela shine in their roles, the formulaic narration and forced emotions make this film a below-par watch this weekend.
