Mind The Malhotras season 2 review: Mini Mathur-Cyrus Sahukar's show is khichdi with a tadka

Mind The Malhotras 2 - Mini Mathur, Cyrus Sahukar.

Mind the Malhotras

Story:

Rishabh Malhotra (Cyrus Sahukar)'s life depends on a merger. He wants it for a better family life. Meanwhile his Shefali Malhotra (Mini Mathur) focuses on her YouTube channel on cooking. This couple balances between professional life and the madness in their personal life even more this time around.

Review:

Konnichiwa! As soon as you delve into season 2 of Mind The Malhotras, you feel the vibe of this show changing. It has become grander and the laughs set in soon in the form of Cyrus Sahukar's Rishabh Malhotra.

Sahil Sangha is still associated with the project as a writer, producer and director. Unfortunately, Dia Mirza is no longer with this project.

As you progress into the show, Mini Mathur as Shefali/Shef is back in character too. Only difference is, she has brought her chef side this time.

Denzil Smith is back as the therapist Dr. Gulfam and he is epic as always. However, his appearance is limited this time around.

Jason D'Souza's Yohan/Yoyo unfortunately doesn't have as much screen space this time and even when he does get screen time, it is not the same Yoyo from season 1. The Yoyo this time is a little boring.

Nikki Sharma as Dia and Anandita Pagnis as Jia have almost the same screen time. As actors too, they are on the same range.

Rahul Verma as Zorawar/Zoru has little to explore this time. He tries but isn't one of the most memorable characters out there in this season.

Dalip Tahil brings a fresh perspective to the series and still, fits right in as Roshan. Sushmita Mukherjee's character Seema/Sonu has been enhanced to such an extent that she takes even Roshan to new heights.

Kabir Jai Bedi as Jia's boyfriend Rocky is quite the catch. He is hilarious and a sweetheart in every scene.

Sameer Kochhar as Rishabh Jain leaves quite the impression. He has a twist on the show.

Maria Goretti's Chef Maria makes a cameo appearance and she lives up to the hype created on the show. There is however a hint that her graph on the show has ended.

The story becomes a drag at some points but it also gets interesting with the competition. However, unfortunately, this season cannot keep up with the last.

The series ends on a hilarious but hopeful note. It makes for a great watch, even if not upto the standards of season 1. You can definitely expect a season 3 too and the excitement is sure to be too high!

Verdict:

You know how you eat khichdi when unwell? Mind The Malhotras does the same thing. It is a feel-good show. Khichdi might not be the best dish out there but you can eat it at any time, even if it a mix of way too many things. Mind The Malhotras is exactly that show. You are bound to like this one even if it deals with too many things. And there's always a tadka on the khichdi (show-wise) which never lets you change the show.
