Review:

Even a small step towards saving the environment of your planet is applaudable. Meanwhile, Netflix has come up with a fun documentary film that showcases a Puffer Fish’s journey through a wondrous microworld full of fantastical creatures and simultaneously educates us about the coral reefs inside the ocean that plays an important role in the sustainability of this planet. There have been many shows and films that display the importance of coral reefs, while Puff: Wonders of the Reef doesn’t emphasize that but this interesting and intelligent documentary shows the origin and explores the life of corals, microscopic organisms and the water animals, who take shelter in the coral reef.

The makers have followed the life of a Puffer Fish that takes birth in a small part of the Great Barrier Reef and has been named Puff and can be known as the protagonist of this docu-drama film. This Sharpnosed Puffer Fish begins travelling soon after his birth in the search of a home in the coral reef system situated on the coast of Queensland, Australia.

Director Nick Robinson has beautifully captured all the small moments that happen in the reef and on the sand surface inside the sea. Known for making travel documentaries, the filmmaker has captured each nuance of these real-life creatures. From their food habits to their daily routine, from understanding their environment to catching prey and from taking birth to giving birth, the moviemaker has left no stones unturned in showcasing the little details about these creatures that make the audience understand most things at once.

Documentary tends to become boring with their uninteresting statistics, data and more. However, Peta Ayers and Nick Robinson’s writings have made the film interesting and it seems quite engaging with the flawless narration by the Hollywood actress Rose Byrne.

Verdict

Puff: Wonders of the Reef makes up for an interesting and educational watch if you love to know about water creatures and are interested to know more about the environment to save our planet.
