Records broken by Kohli in Raipur

The innings began with flair: Kohli got off the mark via a superb pull for six off Marco Jansen, maintaining control amid early pressure after Rohit Sharma's shock exit. He reached three figures with a single to long-on off Jansen in the 39th over, jumping in celebration, helmet off, looking skywards before hugging KL Rahul amid thunderous "Kohli, Kohli" chants.

Tragedy struck immediately on Lungi Ngidi's next over (39.1). A 132kph length ball slanting at stumps induced a premeditated lofted shot, caught brilliantly by Aiden Markram as Kohli had to leave on 102 off 93 balls.

Here are the records that were broken by Virat Kohli during his 53rd ODI ton against South Africa in Raipur.

1. 34th venue to witness Kohli's ODI ton

Kohli's knock marked Raipur as his 34th distinct venue for an ODI hundred, tying Sachin Tendulkar's all-time mark of 34 while leading players ahead of Rohit Sharma (26), Hashim Amla (21), and de Villiers (21).
