The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) unveiled a 16-player squad for the Asia Cup, highlighting the returns of wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan and batsman Saif Hasan.

Nurul Hasan, 31, has been recalled after nearly three years, having last represented Bangladesh in a T20 International during the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia in November 2022.
His consistent performances in domestic cricket and recent appearances for Bangladesh A earned him this opportunity.

Saif Hasan also returned to the national fold after a gap of one and a half years. His last appearance for Bangladesh came in the 2023 Asian Games before being left out of the squad since then.
A few changes were seen as Mehidy Hassan Miraz, who was part of the last T20I squad, failed to make the main 16-member squad and was named as a standby player alongside Soumya Sarkar, Tanvir Islam, and Hasan Mahmud.
Notably, former T20I captain Najmul Hossain Shanto was absent from both the main and standby lists.
This squad will also play a three-match T20I series against the Netherlands starting August 30 in Sylhet.
