The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the squad for the upcoming England tour. Team India is set to play five Test matches, starting on June 20. The Indian cricket team is currently undergoing a major transition following the retirement of India's two star batters, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

The biggest update comes in the form of Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant, who have been assigned the captain and vice-captain roles, respectively. With the commencement of a new era in the Test format, Team India would also begin its World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle in June 2025 against England. Starting from Headingly, the Indian team will move to Edgbaston, Lord's, Old Trafford, and The Oval from June to August.

Here's Team India's complete squad for the England tour:

Shubman Gill ©, Rishabh Pant (vc & wk), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudarshan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel (wk), Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav.

The BCCI has added fresh names including Sai Sudarshan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, and Arshdeep Singh to the Indian squad. Apart from this, Shardul Thakur and Karun Nair mark their return to the Test side after a long gap. Surprisingly, Mohammad Shami has been left out of the squad for the England tour.

BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar also mentioned that Jasprit Bumrah will not be available for all the five Test matches.

"I don't think he will be able to play all five Tests, as per what the physios, doctors told have told us. Whether it's four or three, we will see how the series goes and how his body can keep the workload. Even if he fit for three or four Tests, he will win us a few matches. We are glad that he is fit and we've seen what he is doing in the IPL," Agarkar said on Bumrah.
