In the 79.5 overs, Siraj bowled a fraction short of length and outside off to Jamie Smith, who swung his bat along with the ball. Fortunately for India, the ball touched the bat as it passed by it, going straight to the wicket-keeper. Dhruv Jurel did not make a mistake in grabbing the ball and took a fine catch.
However, on-field umpire Kumar Dharmasena went upstairs to the third umpire to check whether it was out or not. While it was pretty much evident that the catch was taken properly and the ball touched the bat, the umpires added some drama to the game.
As we write, the game has reached an exciting point where India need just one wicket to win the match and level the series, while England need 17 runs to win the match and the series. Chris Woakes, the injured batter, walked out to the middle to help England win the match. The thrill, drama, and excitement continue as the winner of the match is yet to be decided.
