England has called back Sam Curran for their T20I series against South Africa and Ireland. Curran has been in impressive form scoring 365 runs and taking 21 wickets in 15 matches in T20 Blast.

After a stunning few months, both with bat and ball, England called back pace bowling all-rounder Sam Curran to their T20I set up for the upcoming series against South Africa and Ireland. The T20I series against South Africa will start on 10 September and finish on 14 September, before the three-match Ireland series, which starts on 7 September.

The 27-year-old last featured for England in the T20I format in November 2024 against West Indies. After that, he had waited for his return to the Three Lions squad for nine months.
Curran’s return to the England squad was inevitable after scoring 365 runs and taking 21 wickets in 15 matches of the ongoing T20 Blast, England’s domestic T20 tournament.
Moreover, he was also impressive for Oval Invincibles in their title-winning campaign in The Hundred 2025, scoring 238 runs and taking 12 wickets in nine matches. Curran comes in the place of Ben Duckett, who has given a rest from the T20I format.

Matthew Potts has been released from the squad to feature for Durham in the County Championship. England would love to make a statement in the T20I series, after losing the ODI series already. The final match of the ODI series will be played on coming Sunday, 7 September.
All the matches of the Ireland series will be played at Malahide in Dublin. Harry Brook will lead the series against South Africa, while Jacob Bethell has been named as the captain for the Ireland Series.
