Richa's incredible ICC record continues

Richa Ghosh is now among only the two players in Women's Cricket history who have won both the ICC U-19 Women's World Cup and the ICC Women's World Cup. Richa and Shafali are the only two players to achieve the milestone.

Both Shafali and Richa had won the ICC U-19 Women's World Cup in 2023, where Shafali led the team to its maiden title.

Not only that, Richa, who was playing her maiden ICC Women's World Cup, went on to break three records with the bat, which helped India lift the title. With 12 sixes, Richa broke the record for the most sixes in a single edition of the Women's World Cup. Along with that, she scored most runs in between 40-50 overs and also had the highest strike-rate in that period as well.

In an exclusive with OTTplay, Richa's childhood coach and former Bengal cricketer Shib Shankar Paul revealed the secret of her six-hitting abilities. "She knew that teams would try to bog her down by analysing her game. But Richa kept practising new shots which no one knew. Be it hitting over the cover or even a scoop, she practised everything. Even used to practice the whole day to get herself ready for the World Cup," Paul said.
