Many other reports suggested that cities from Mexico and Canada, which are also the hosts of the biggest football event in the World, were thought of as an option to host the draw. However, finally, Las Vegas was chosen as the final one to host the FIFA World Cup 2026 draw.
In the 1994 FIFA Club World Cup, Las Vegas was also chosen as the host of the official draw. It was the last time the World Cup was played between 24 teams. After that, the tournament was expanded to a 32-team event.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 draw is rumoured to be hosted at the Las Vegas Convention Centre on December 5, 2025. The time of the event has not been announced yet, though.
A record 48 teams would participate in the FIFA World Cup 2026, as FIFA looks to expand the tournament to more countries for better competition and exposure. From 1998 to 2022, the tournament was played between 32 teams.

48 teams will be divided into 12 groups in the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Shockingly, only 13 teams, including the hosts USA, Mexico and Canada, have qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2026 so far. Japan, New Zealand, Iran, Argentina, Uzbekistan, South Korea, Jordan, Australia, Brazil and Ecuador have qualified for the grand event so far.
