Australia's former cricketer Michael Clarke has given his prediction for the semi-final 1 between New Zealand and England in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. As per the legendary player, South Africa are going into the match as favorites since the Kiwis are low in confidence after losing against England in the Super 8.

Despite that loss, they still managed to qualify for the semi-finals as they defeated Sri Lanka in the match. The Kiwis do have a solid team but when it comes to playing in crucial matches, it will be interesting to see if they can perform well. They are led by captain Mitchell Santner who has been in a stellar form.

“I’m going to South Africa to make the final. South Africa to beat New Zealand. New Zealand losing that game [Super 8] to England. I think it’s just a dampener on their confidence. South Africa are flying at the moment, and I think that will be an absolute cracker of a final as well, India v South Africa," said Michael Clarke on Beyond23 Cricket Podcast.

I’m going to say India to win: Michael Clarke

In the second semi-finals, Clarke believes that India will win the match against England. The Men in Blye are in terrific form, especially after their win against West Indies in the previous match. All the players are confident and have played good cricket in the past.

I’m going to say India to win. I think getting over the line against the West Indies will be defining for them. It’s going to be tough to see anyone beat India. England wasn’t in my top four. They come in confident and playing their best cricket. Their captain is in terrific form. He’s just as destructive as any player," he added.
