Check out the article to know more about the former India cricketer who urged Gambhir to stay calm after he lost his cool in the post-match presser of the 4th IND vs ENG Test.

It’s never easy to be on the hot seat, especially when you’re the head coach of the Indian cricket team. After India’s magnificent draw against England in the fourth Test of the ongoing five-match series in Manchester, head coach Gautam Gambhir looked fired up in the post-match conference, and a former India cricketer has some advice for him.

Gambhir didn’t like the criticism going on around the Indian Test captain Shubman Gill, and slammed the critics, calling detractors “people who don’t know cricket.” Cricketer turned commentator, Sanjay Manjrekar, reacted to the press conference and asked Gambhir to be relaxed and stay open to tough questions.
“Yeah, you can tell there are certain questions that get under his skin, especially when people question Gill as a young captain and batter. And honestly, those are valid doubts. Even people who deeply understand cricket wonder whether this was the right time to hand him that opportunity.” Manjrekar told Jio Hotstar.
"I just hope we can all understand this better. It's not about ‘you guys think’ and ‘we think’, we're all part of the same industry and the same country. I'd just like to see him take a chill pill, relax a bit, and be open to tough questions. Whether that will happen, I’m not sure," the former India batter went on to add.
Talking about Gill, he has been writing his own script on the field. At just 25, India’s Test captain has already amassed four centuries in the series so far, joining an elite club that includes Sunil Gavaskar and Don Bradman as only the third skipper ever to hit four hundreds in a single series. His gritty 103 in the second innings at Old Trafford, the fourth ton in the series, came in a vital 188‑run stand with KL Rahul, which laid the foundation for an epic draw.
India are still trailing the series 1-2 and will be hoping to win the upcoming and the final Test at The Oval. Gill wouldn’t like to lose his first-ever Test series as a captain, also Gambhir, who had seen a dark phase in his coaching career, particularly in Test cricket, would also like to end the series with a convincing win.
