MS Dhoni will be leading CSK in the 16th edition of the IPL and play the first game against Gujarat Titans on March 31.

With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 all set to begin soon, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has already begun his preparations for the 16th edition of the league. The CSK 'Thala' has got fans excited as photos of him in the nets have been doing the rounds on social media.
However, there is also a big looming question in everyone's mind - Will this be MS Dhoni's last year playing the IPL?
Giving some light to this question, Dhoni's former CSK teammate and opener Shane Watson said that the wicketkeeper-batsman looks fit on the ground. He added that Dhoni could easily play for more three-four years.
"I heard that this is the last IPL of MS Dhoni but I don't think so. MS Dhoni can continue to play for the next three to four years. He is still very fit and batting and wicket-keeping really well," said Watson while talking to ANI.
"His leadership is something that is as good as his game. His fitness and mind-reading of the game make him a good leader. His skills on the ground are awesome. He is one of the main reasons that CSK is successful," he added.
Dhoni, on numerous occasions, had said he would like to end his IPL career in Chennai. "Whether it's next year or five years from now, we don't really know", he further added.
The Captain Cool has led CSK to four IPL titles, 2nd highest by any team in the IPL after Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI), which has lifted the trophy 5 times in 15 seasons.
The skipper will now be leading CSK in the 16th edition and play the first game against IPL 2022 season winner Gujarat Titans on March 31.
