India played their first Women's Test match in 1976 against the West Indies in Bangalore.
Shantha Rangaswamy, who was the first-ever captain of the Indian Women's Test team, scored a beautiful 74 as India drew the Test match. India went on to draw the 6-Test match series by 1-1.
Till now, 98 players have played for India in Women's Test cricket. Pratika Rawal, Kashvee Gautam, Sayali Satghare, and Kranti Gaud became the latest players to join the list as they were handed Test caps against Australia at WACA, in Perth.
