Cricket fans in the Gulf region are in for a thrilling winter as the International League T20 (ILT20) is all set to return with its fourth season, beginning on December 2, 2025. The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) has officially confirmed the updated schedule, aligning the tournament with the UAE’s National Day celebrations and avoiding scheduling conflicts with global T20 leagues and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

The upcoming edition of the ILT20 promises to be a landmark event, launching on Eid-Al-Etihad, the UAE's National Day, a symbolic gesture reflecting the country's deep-rooted passion for cricket and its diverse population of fans.

Khalid Al Zarooni, Chairman of ILT20 and Vice-Chairman of the Emirates Cricket Board, expressed pride in syncing the tournament’s opening day with the UAE’s National Day.

“We are delighted to confirm that the DP World International League T20 Season 4 will commence on December 2, a date of immense national pride. Cricket is a unifying force here in the UAE, with millions of fans from all over the world calling this country home. It is a true honour to launch the region’s biggest T20 event on a day that celebrates our unity, diversity, and national spirit,” Al Zarooni said.

ILT20 CEO David White also emphasized the importance of the new tournament window, scheduled from December 2, 2025, to January 4, 2026. The shift ensures that the tournament does not clash with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, slated for early February 2026.

“This revised window came after thorough discussions with our stakeholders. It gives us the best opportunity to finish the tournament before the World Cup and allows players to seamlessly transition into national duties. It also opens the doors to a larger pool of elite cricketers who might otherwise have scheduling conflicts,” said White.

Building on the success of season 3

The last edition of ILT20 proved to be a massive success, breaking records in digital and broadcast viewership and establishing itself as a staple of the international T20 calendar. Season 3 concluded with the Dubai Capitals clinching the title at the iconic Dubai International Stadium, showcasing a competitive mix of talent and star power.

Fans were treated to some electrifying performances from global T20 giants including Sam Curran (winner of the Red Belt), Fazalhaq Farooqi (White Belt winner), Nicholas Pooran, David Warner, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Alex Hales. The tournament also featured household names such as Shai Hope, Jason Holder, Fakhar Zaman, Lockie Ferguson, Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and Matthew Wade, among many others.
