Suryavanshi’s innings was a whirlwind of boundaries and sixes as he dispatched the UAE bowling attack with apparent ease at West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha.
His century included a dazzling array of 10 fours and 9 sixes, reflecting a strike rate exceeding 300.
What makes this century even more remarkable is that it marks Suryavanshi’s second T20 hundred in less than 35 balls, making him the only batter in history to achieve such a feat.
His first similarly rapid hundred came earlier in 2025 during the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Rajasthan Royals, where he scored a 35-ball hundred against Gujarat Titans, setting the record for the fastest IPL century by an Indian.
By hitting this 32-ball ton in the Rising Stars Asia Cup, Vaibhav equalled the joint third-fastest T20 century by an Indian, sharing the spot with none other than former India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who reached the milestone in 32 balls during a domestic match in 2018.
He also surpassed the great Rohit Sharma’s 35-ball T20 international century record to become the fastest Indian to reach three figures in T20 cricket.
Earlier, Indian captain Jitesh Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. Depending on Suryavanshi's 42-ball 144, India reached 250 in the 18th over of the first inning.
