The pitch at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai is typically a batter-friendly surface with good bounce and true pace, allowing stroke-makers to play their shots freely and post high scores in limited-overs cricket. Early on, fast bowlers might get some movement with the new ball, and spinners can come into play later, but the overall wicket tends to favour batting, often leading to high-scoring contests.
India and South Africa have played 32 games so far in the T20Is. While India have an upper edge on the Proteas with 19 wins, the opponents have 13 victories to their name.
