No victory parade planned, private ceremony to honour team

Unlike previous public celebrations, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided not to hold a victory parade due to logistical and safety concerns. The players will instead be felicitated in a closed ceremony at the Prime Minister’s residence, with top BCCI officials and support staff in attendance.

The team is expected to arrive in Delhi on November 4, where they will be welcomed privately before the grand honour the following day. The decision reflects the BCCI’s priority on player safety and comfort after a demanding tournament.

While fans expressed disappointment over the absence of a public parade, the felicitation by PM Modi signifies official recognition of the team’s historic feat. It also reinforces the growing importance of women’s cricket in India, inspiring young players across the country.
