The two arch-rivals, India and Pakistan, have been put together in the same group and will be clashing against each other on September 14 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. But former India cricketer and BJP leader, Keda Jadhav, has come up with a strong statement regarding the clash.
“I think the Indian team should not play at all, as far as India is concerned, I think that wherever India plays, it will always win,” Jadhav told ANI. “Ye match bilkul nahi khelna chahiye, aur khelenge bhi nahi, ye main daave ke saath keh sakta hun.” (But this match should not be played at all, and they will not play. I can say this with confidence...Operation Sindoor is a hit, it is successful). He said.
Jadhav has played for India himself and represented multiple franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL) over the years. So, him saying that India should boycott the match is indeed a strong statement. Fans can expect the topic to heat up further in the upcoming days, as the political tension between the two neighboring countries has worsened over the years, especially in 2025, following the Pahalgam attack.
Even recently, during the WCL 2025, the India Champions refused to play against the Pakistan Champions. So, it would be interesting to see BCCI’s stance on this for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 clash. However, they are yet to announce the squad for the tournament, and as per report,s the announcement will be made on August 19. On the other hand, Pakistan have already announced the squad for the upcoming tournament with some major exclusions including Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.
