IPL 2023 mini-auction: Joe Root sold to Rajasthan, Shakib Al Hasan goes to KKR

The final set of players to go under the hammer of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 mini-auction in Kochi were the ones selected by the franchises. Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Gujarat Titans (GT), and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have filled all their available slots.

Kolkata Knight Riders (Rs 4.15 crore left) and Rajasthan Royals (Rs 6.75 crore left) had 6 slots each available to fill while Lucknow Super Giants (Rs 4.25 crore left), Mumbai Indians (Rs 25 lakh left) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (Rs 7.75 crore left) had two slots left each to fill.

Delhi Capitals had just 1 slot left to fill and have Rs 9.05 crore left while Punjab Kings still had a whopping Rs 12.2 crore left to spend for the remaining three spots.

The last accelerated round of auction started with Rilee Rossouw who had a base price Rs 2 crore and was taken by Delhi Capitals for Rs 4.6 crore.

Litton Das had an opening bid which will be the closing bid as well as he was taken by KKR for INR 50 Lakh.

Akeal Hosein is sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 1 Crore while Kusal Mendis went unsold.

Adam Zampa goes to RR for Rs 1.5 crore while Anmolpreet Singh goes to SRH for Rs 20 lakh.

Next on the list were KM Asif who went to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 30 lakh, Murugan Ashwin to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 20 lakh and Mandeep Singh to Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 50 lakh.

Wayne Parnell and Rassie van der Dussen go unsold yet again while Akash Vashisht goes to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 20 lakh.

Naveen Ul Haq has gone to Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 50 lakh, Yudhvir Charak to Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 20 lakh and Mumbai Indians get Raghav Goyal for Rs 20 lakh.

Abdul PA is taken by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 20 lakh.

KKR, RR and PBKS had slots and purse remaining and have given 4 names.

Joe Root is sold to Rajasthan Royals for INR 1 Crore, while Shakib Al Hasan has gone to KKR for INR 1.5 Crore.

Wayne Parnell who was back in the auction went unsold yet again, while Ekant Sen from the uncapped list also has gone unsold.
