IPL 2025: KL Rahul has made IPL history by becoming the fastest player to reach 5000 runs, achieving this milestone in just 130 innings, surpassing stars like David Warner and Virat Kohli.

KL Rahul just added another major milestone to his already impressive IPL career — and it’s a big one. The star batter has become the fastest player in the history of the Indian Premier League to reach 5000 runs. He achieved this incredible feat in just 130 innings, outpacing legends like David Warner (135 innings), Virat Kohli (157), AB de Villiers (161), and Shikhar Dhawan (168).
This record-breaking moment came during a high-energy clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). While Delhi walked away with an 8-wicket win, the spotlight was firmly on Rahul, who played a calm and classy knock of 57 off 42 balls — an innings that not only anchored the chase but also marked a personal milestone.
KL Rahul has played a significant role in the success of Delhi Capitals during the ongoing IPL 2025 season. Despite missing the first match, the player has been amongst runs. The player is right in the race for the orange cap with 323 runs in seven matches at an average of 64.60.
Although KL Rahul is currently in the seventh position, with the kind of form he is in, one cannot simply rule him out of the contention. Delhi Capitals are currently placed at the second position in the overall standings with six wins in eight matches. With six matches still remaining to play, KL Rahul would like to contribute in a similar manner and ensure that the team reaches the playoffs without any stutters.
Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals will be facing Royal Challenger Bengaluru on Sunday, April 27, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Previously, both teams played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, in which RCB were handed over a six-wicket defeat by the Delhi Capitals. RCB would like to avenge their loss by winning at DC's home ground.
