Jasprit Bumrah's wife Sanjana Ganesan and their son Angad, cheered him on during MI vs LSG IPL 2025 match. However, an innocent moment of Angad's serious expression sparked online ridicule.

It was a proud night for Jasprit Bumrah and his family. At a buzzing Wankhede Stadium, the star pacer led Mumbai Indians to a commanding win over Lucknow Super Giants, picking up four wickets and putting on a bowling masterclass in Match 45 of IPL 2025.
In the stands, his biggest supporters — his wife, Sanjana Ganesan, and their little boy, Angad were there, cheering him on. For Bumrah, it was a perfect evening, made even sweeter by the presence of his family.

But what should have been a purely joyful moment turned sour online. A camera panned to Sanjana and Angad after Bumrah’s stunning spell. Angad, just one and a half years old, was caught on screen looking serious — as babies often do when they’re in noisy, unfamiliar places. Unfortunately, some social media users turned that innocent moment into a joke, creating memes and unnecessary commentary around his expression.
Sanjana, heartbroken by the way strangers mocked her young son, decided to speak up. In an emotional Instagram story posted on April 28, she asked for basic decency and respect for her child.
“Our son is NOT a topic for your entertainment," she wrote. "Jasprit and I work really hard to keep Angad away from the toxic world of social media. Yes, I know bringing him to a stadium full of cameras had its risks. But we were there simply to support Jasprit and nothing else."
She expressed her disappointment in seeing people judge her baby’s personality, emotions, and even mental health based on a few seconds of footage.
"We have no interest in our son being viral content or national gossip. It’s heartbreaking to watch strangers label a child they know nothing about," she said.
Sanjana also took issue with the casual, thoughtless way people used heavy words like “trauma” and “depression” about a toddler.
“He’s just a baby. Throwing around words like trauma and depression for a one-and-a-half-year-old is deeply troubling. It says a lot about the direction our community is heading, and it’s not a good look," she wrote. "You know nothing about our son, or what our life is like. Please remember that before typing out your opinions."
She ended her message with a simple but important reminder: be a little more honest, and a little more kind.
In a world where viral content often comes at the expense of someone’s dignity, Sanjana’s words hit home. They’re a reminder that even public figures — and especially their children — deserve a little more compassion and a lot more respect.
