In-form batter Suryakumar Yadav and double-ton hitter Ishan Kishan have been kept out of the 1st ODI against Sri Lanka at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.

At the toss of the 1st 50-over game, captain Rohit Sharma announced the squad and saw many names missing out from the squad.

In fact, the side also does not see Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav in the mix and many are questioning the Team India selection.

Team India won the fiercely contested T20I series against Sri Lanka. Key players Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma return to the side but the BCCI released a statement saying Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the series.

This series is essential for both teams as will mark the start of their preparations for the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup.
