Pakistani all-rounder Saim Ayub's struggles continued in the Asia Cup 2025, as he scored his fourth duck in the Super Four match against Bangladesh at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Saim Ayub, who had scored three back-to-back ducks at the start of the Asia Cup 2025 as an opener, was brought down to number three to save him from the new ball. However, in the must-win knockout match against Bangladesh, Pakistan lost Shahibzada Farhan in the opening over from Taskin Ahmed, and Saim Ayub had to come to bat early in the innings.

Just in the second over of the match and his third ball of the inning, Ayub tried to loft the ball over the mid-on fielder against Mahedi Hasan. However, the left-handed batter only managed to get the inside part of the bat, and it went straight to Rishad Hossain, who did not miss the chance to send him back to the dressing room.

In his six innings with the bat now, Saim Ayub has scored four ducks and reached the double-figure mark only twice in the tournament.
In the Asia Cup 2025, he has scored 23 runs off 27 balls in 6 innings.

Saim Ayub has now gone past Shahid Afridi’s record for the second most ducks for Pakistan in T20 international cricket. In 45 innings, he now has 9 ducks in T20Is. Umar Akmal, with 10 ducks, is only ahead of him currently.
Earlier in the match, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bowl first. They made as many as three changes to their lineup while Pakistan remained unchanged. The winner of this match will play India in the Asia Cup 2025 final on 28 September.
