Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wants to reschedule the three-match ODI series against Australia at home, which is slated to take place in March next year. It is being reported that the reason behind it is to avoid the clash with their very own Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The ODI series is a part of Australia’s tour of Pakistan, which also features a three-match T20I series, which will take place from January 30 to February 5 in order to prepare for the T20 World Cup 2026, which is scheduled to take place in February itself.

A few sources have also revealed that PCB is in talks with Cricket Australia to postpone the series. The 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League is likely to be organised between the months of March and May in 2026. And there’s also a reason why they want to reschedule the ODI series to avoid the clash.

Earlier this year, PCB were forced to reschedule PSL because of the ICC Champions Trophy, which took place in February and March. Pakistan were also hosting the tournament, and a lot of drama also happened as India refused to travel to Pakistan, and later Dubai was added as another venue where India played all of their matches.

Golden Period of Pakistan Cricket

It won’t be wrong to say that the Pakistan cricket are having their golden period these days. The Men in Green first won the Hong Kong Sixes, and recently they also lifted the Asia Cup Rising Stars title to continue their dominance in limited-overs cricket. However, the teams that took part in this tournament were not the regular or let’s say the ‘main’ teams, but still, it’s a good sign for the future of Pakistan cricket.

That said, the Pakistan senior cricket team are also preparing hard for the upcoming T20 World Cup. They recently defeated South Africa 2-1 in a three-match T20I series at home and are also dominating the ongoing Tri-Nation T20I Series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe at home. Some new faces like Sahibzada Farhan and Usman Khan have proved their worth with their recent impressive performance.
