Jadeja made it clear that his dream of representing India at the 2027 ODI World Cup remains strong. With 204 ODIs under his belt, 2806 runs, and 231 wickets, Jadeja has been a reliable asset in India’s middle order and spin department.
Addressing his absence from the Australia squad, he remained diplomatic. “It’s not in my hands. I want to play, but at the end of the day, the captain, coach, selectors, and management have their reasons. They spoke to me directly, so it wasn’t a surprise,” Jadeja explained. His comments indicate his understanding of team dynamics and his willingness to contribute whenever called upon.
"“It is not in my hands. I want to play, but at the end of the day, it's all about the thinking of the captain, coach, selector and the management. They must have a reason behind not keeping me in the team for the Australia ODIs. They spoke to me, it is not like that I was given a surprise. I didn't find out about it at the time of the squad announcement,” said Jadeja while speaking to the reporters after stumps.
