India's star batter Shreyas Iyer was snubbed from the Asia Cup 2025 squad despite being one of the best in the recent years. He has scored tons of runs and at crucial moments. However, he wasn't included in the squad for the Asia Cup. The selectors didn't reveal the reasons behind the snub.

During an IQOOO podcast, Iyer finally opened up how frustrating it has been for him and how he was expecting a place in the Asia Cup squad. Iyer, one of the most prolific batters in the Indian cricket, will now lead a team against Australia A. They'll play unofficial Test and ODI series later this month.

"It is only frustrating when you know that you deserve to be in the team, in the playing XI. That time, it is frustrating," said Shreyas Iyer, in an iQOOO podcast.

"But at the same time, when you know that someone is performing and playing consistently for the team and bringing (out) their best, you support them. Eventually, the goal is for the team to win and when the team is winning, everyone is happy. Even when no one is watching, you have to keep doing your work. That’s integrity," he added.

When does the series against Australia A starts?

The series against Australia A will start on September 16 with two multi-day matches, followed by three ODIs. Iyer will lead the young players which will be a huge boost for them. Most of the players have played just domestic cricket and IPL and need much more grooming and preparation.
