Break ties with PCB entirely: Sourav Ganguly

Former Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly has suggested the BCCI cut their cricketing relations completely with Pakistan. It comes after Pakistan-backed terrorists killed 28 Indian tourists who came to visit Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22. Ganguly was recently asked whether India should cut its ties with Pakistan. The former skipper agreed that BCCI should not consider any relations with PCB from now on.

Sourav Ganguly mentioned that terror attacks happen every year, and these things should not be tolerated anymore. Here's the complete statement given by the former Indian captain:

"100 per cent, this (breaking ties with Pakistan) should be done. Strict action is necessary. It is no joke that such things happen every year. Terrorism cannot be tolerated."

The cricketing ties between India and Pakistan already lay on thin lines as India declined playing bilateral series in and against Pakistan after its terror outfits carried out the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai, resulting in the loss of innocent lives. Since then, India hasn't toured Pakistan and also passed the ruling to not allow their players to participate in the IPL.

Although both teams do play against each other in the Asia Cup and ICC events, things look gloomy as the BCCI have urged the ICC to not put both nations in one group.

BCCI wants India and Pakistan to have separate groups in future ICC events

Soon after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla voiced his opinions and said that the board would avoid playing Pakistan in the future. Speaking to Sports Tak, he assured that BCCI would follow the directives of the Indian government. Here's what he said:

"We are with the victims, and we condemn it. Whatever our government says, we will do. We don't play with Pakistan in a bilateral series because of the government's stand. And we will not play with Pakistan in bilaterals going forward. But when it comes to the ICC event, we play due to ICC engagement. ICC is also aware of what is happening, they will do it (sic)."
