Zimbabwe, having won the toss and elected to bat first, posted a competitive total of 153/7 in their 20 overs. The innings was anchored by Sikandar Raza, who led from the front with an aggressive yet calculated 73-run effort. Raza’s knock provided much-needed stability after early setbacks, and he found support from Clive Madande, who added crucial middle-order runs to help Zimbabwe reach a defendable total.

Zimbabwe’s bowling also impressed at crucial junctures. Raza and Brad Evans put pressure on the South African top order with disciplined lines and variations, not allowing easy boundaries. However, South Africa’s chase didnt start early on by the experienced Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram as they lost wickets at regular intervals.

Dewald Brevis' power-hitting show helped Proteas remain unbeaten

The standout performance in the chase came from Dewald Brevis, whose explosive batting turned the momentum in South Africa’s favour. Brevis played with maturity beyond his years, timing the ball expertly and dispatching loose deliveries to all parts of the ground. His partnership with David Miller, who played a useful supporting role, proved decisive in swinging the contest.

As the game moved into the death overs, it was Brevis’ calculated aggression that kept South Africa ahead of the required rate. With calm finishing from the lower order, South Africa chased down the target with some balls to spare, finishing on 154/5. The victory was built on balanced contributions, both with the bat and in the field.
