#1 South Korea | 5

South Korea are the most successful team in Men’s Hockey Asia Cup history, having clinched the title five times out of the 11 editions.

The current defending champions of Asia won the title in 1994, 1999, 2009, 2013, and 2022. Their consistent supremacy in the continental tournament proves why they are also called one of the best hockey teams in the world.

#2 India | 3

India, who once used to be the best team in the world and dominate every other team on the planet on the field of hockey, lost its charm during the 1980s and 1990s.

However, the recent success of the men’s hockey team has again placed them among the best teams in the World. Recent success in the 2020 and 2024 Olympics is proof of India's resurgence in Hockey.

India had to wait for 21 years to get their hands on the Asia Cup, and since then, they have won the title thrice in 2003, 2007, and 2017.

#3 Pakistan | 3

Pakistan were the most dominant team in men’s hockey when the Asia Cup started. The neighbouring country of India won the first three editions of the Men’s Hockey Asia Cup and were the most successful team on the continent.

However, their dip in performance in the recent decades have helped South Korea to surpass them, and even India have caught up as well.

Pakistan won the Asia Cup in 1982, 1985, and 1989 while becoming the first nation to win the title in consecutive three editions.
