Former India cricketer Ajay Jadeja spoke highly about Ravindra Jadeja after the end of the Test series against England. In the absence of senior players, Ravindra Jadeja performed well, setting an example for the youngsters. Being an all-rounder, he did his part. Jadeja scored 516 runs in ten innings at an average of 86.

After an incredible performance, he retained his No. 1 position in the ICC Test rankings as well. India won the 5th Test match against England by the narrowest margin of six runs. With this, the Men in Blue leveled the series 2-2. This helped them climb up the points table in the WTC 2025-27 cycle as well. The former player was happy with Jadeja's performance and struck a comparison with Shubman Gill as well.
"Is anything required to be said? The man has shown you what he can do. I think outstanding. Shubman Gill has scored 754 runs, and you are saying that he has reached close to the best. He (Ravindra Jadeja) has scored nearly 550 runs," said Ajay Jadeja on Sony Sports.
"He has been more consistent than even Shubman Gill. He had four innings that didn't end, because the batting ended from the other end. In the entire series, there were only two innings where he got out early," he added.
The fifth and final Test saw a thriller thanks to Mohammed Siraj’s five-wicket haul, but it was again Jadeja’s steady second-innings fifty that gave India a fighting total to defend. Jadeja's contributions will be remembered by every Indian for a very long time.
As the dust settles on what has been called one of the most dramatic Test series in recent memory, the spotlight rightly shines on Gill. But within that glow, the cricketing community is taking a moment to acknowledge Ravindra Jadeja, the unsung hero who was, perhaps, India's most consistent pillar in the storm.
