The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 is set to start on August 14 between the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts. This is the 13th edition of the tournament, so most of the players are quite familiar with the format. The CPL is hosted by the West Indies Cricket and players from all around the globe take part in it. There are a total of six teams, and the league is held around six venues: Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago. 1. Tim David - Saint Lucia Kings

Tim David is all set to play for the Saint Lucia Kings in the upcoming season of the CPL 2025. The Australian all-rounder has played many T20 leagues and has vast experience in the format. This will surely help him in tricking the bowlers during the matches.

Well, David has also played in the CPL before in 2024. In 24 matches, he has scored 453 runs at an average of 26.64. His strike rate is the most interesting part, as it is 138.10. The player has a lot to contribute to the tournament, and the fans will be eagerly waiting to see him in action.

2. Shakib Al Hasan - Antigua and Barbuda Falcons

Shakib Al Hasan is a quite popular all-rounder from Bangladesh, who has many accolades under his name. He is an incredible batter as well as a bowler who has played in the CPL before. However, his performance hasn't been consistent in the league, and that's why he last played in 2022.

As a batter, Shakib has played in 36 matches and scored 448 runs at an average of 16.59. The stats don't seem to be impressive at all. In the bowling sector, he has claimed 37 wickets. This time, he's in the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons' squad.

3. Kieron Pollard - Trinbago Knight Riders

Well, Kieron Pollard needs no introduction. His disastrous batting and the way he puts the balls out of the stadiums is just mind-blowing. In a true sense, Pollard is a nightmare for the bowlers. He is a veteran in the league as he has played 125 matches and scored 2809 runs, at an average of 33.04.

The interesting part is his strike rate, which is 149.01. Pollard has played a lot of cricket in his career, scoring half-centuries, centuries, to taking wickets. He has 61 wickets in the CPL under his name. So, this season, his fans will be waiting to see the vintage Pollard back on the crease again.

4. Jason Holder - St Kitts and Nevis Patriots

Another brilliant player from the Caribbean nation is Jason Holder. He has played around 104 matches and taken 97 wickets at an average of 28.05. Holder has been a veteran in the tournament and knows it really well.

He is one of those experienced players in the squad of St Kitts and Nevis and would hope to contribute as much as he can. Holder has the skills of taking wickets and scoring those long sixes against the best bowlers, which makes him quite unique and trustworthy at the same time.

5. Sherfane Rutherford - Barbados Royals

Sherfane Rutherford is one of the players who is making his mark in West Indies cricket. However, he has been a part of CPL for quite a long time. This season, he'll play with the Barbados Royals.

Overall, if we analyze Rutherford's stats in the CPL, it's not that great. He has played 60 matches and has scored 970 runs at an average of 23.65. This season might be different for the player. We'll just have to wait and see.

6. Shimron Hetmyer - Guyana Amazon Warriors

Shimron Hetmyer will play for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the upcoming CPL 2025. He has been with the same team since 2016 and has established a sense of loyalty towards them.

In CPL, he has played 84 matches and scored 2059 runs at an average of 29.41. He is yet to have a great season, but overall, his contributions in each and every game are quite immense.
