UP Warriorz keep their nerve to outplay Mumbai Indians Women in WPL 2026

Mumbai Indians Women posted 161/5 and put UP Warriorz under pressure in the 8th match of WPL 2026 at DY Patil Stadium with key contributions from top order.

The eighth match of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 was between Mumbai Indians Women and UP Warriorz Women at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai. In a thrilling game, UP Warriorz won the game and got their first victory of the season by seven wickets. It was a complete team effort from the Warriorz and with the tournament progressing forward, this win was important for them.

The game started with the Warriorz winning the toss and choosing the bowl first. MI lost their first wicket early and were under pressure but Nat Sciver-Brunt's 65 off 43 balls brought them back into the game. They ended up scoring 161 runs in the first innings. The Warriorz's bowlers were effective but couldn't take much wickets.

For MI, Amanjot Kaur scored 38 off 33 balls, including seven boundaries. It was a good batting performance from the team. Meanwhile, Nicola Carey's 32 off 20 balls helped MI set a respectable total on the board.

Harleen Deol's classic half-century helped UP Warriorz clinch victory

The UP Warriorz batted beautifully as they chased down the target in 18 overs. Despite losing early wickets, Warriorz held on their nerves and batted till the end to get their first victory of the season. Harleen Deol was phenomenal with the bat, scoring 64 off 39 balls, including 12 boundaries. She got the support from Phoebe Litchfield and Chloe Tyron who helped Warriorz win the game.

MI's bowling wasn't that great as they could manage to claim only three wickets. Nat Sciver-Brunt took two wickets in three overs and conceded 28 runs. She was quite economical but couldn't save the match for the team. The rest of the bowlers failed to claim wickets.
