The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the Class 10 result on May 12. More than 96% of students passed the exam that surely would have brought joy to them and their families.

But alongside the stats and scores, something else has caught the internet’s attention, a throwback to the school days of cricket superstar Virat Kohli. Yes, his Class 10 marksheet from 2004 is going viral once again, reminding people that success isn’t just limited to academic grades.

Kohli’s report card shows decent, hard-earned marks: 83 in English Communication, 81 in Social Science, 75 in Hindi, and 51 in Mathematics. Not exactly the top of the class, but certainly respectable, and more importantly, it reflects the determination of a teenager who would go on to become one of the greatest cricketers of all time.

This marksheet had first resurfaced in August 2023, when IAS officer Jitin Yadav shared it with a powerful message on social media: “Had marks been the sole factor, the entire nation wouldn't be rallying behind him now. Passion and dedication are the key.”

That sentiment rings true today more than ever, as students look to public figures for hope, especially those who prove that life is about more than just a report card.

Kohli set for big IPL clash on May 17

While fans scroll through his old scores, Kohli himself is gearing up for something bigger, a crucial IPL showdown. On May 17, he’ll be back in action for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), facing off against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

At 36, Kohli is still setting the field on fire. With 505 runs from 11 matches, including seven half-centuries, he’s among the top scorers in IPL 2025, striking at a sharp 143.46. His consistency and hunger to perform haven’t faded one bit, and with the playoffs approaching, he’s laser-focused on helping RCB lift their first-ever title.

After KKR, RCB will go up against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 23 and Lucknow Super Giants on May 27, the matches that could define their season.
