[WATCH] Christian Norgaard scores his first goal for Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Christian Norgaard scored his first goal for the Gunners, helping the team reduce a 0-2 deficit against Villarreal.

Arsenal midfielder Christian Norgaard, who was named in the starting lineup by Mikel Arteta in their pre-season home match against Villarreal, scored his first goal for the Gunners. Norgaard headed a corner in the 36th minute of the match after Arsenal went down 0-2 in the first half of the game.

Norgaard scores his first goal

After going down 0-2 within the first 32nd minute of the match, Arsenal made a comeback with Christian Norgaard's goal.

In the 35th minute, Myles Lewis-Skelly's attempted shot from outside the box was blocked by Villarreal defender Pape Gueye. The blocked shot went over the goal line, and Arsenal won the corner.

Winger Gabriel Martinelli took the corner and flew in an inswinging long ball from the right side of the goal. Norgaard, who started waiting on the edge of the box, was unmarked by the Spanish team.

Norgaard kept on waiting as his teammates attacked the goal, leaving the midfielder totally free for a header. The ball fell perfectly for Norgaard to head it inside the goal as Arsenal decreased the deficit.

What happened earlier in the match?

Villarreal took the lead in the 15th minute of the match with Nicolas Pépé scoring from the right side of the six-yard box with a right-footed shot.

In the 32nd minute, the visitors extended their lead as Etta Eyong scored from close range. Norgaard's goal helped Arsenal leave the field at half-time with a respectable 1-2 scoreline.
