A cricket fan stole the spotlight in the AUS vs SA 1st T20I, taking a breathtaking one-handed catch in the stands, drawing cheers from the crowd and praise from players for the stunning effort.

The start of the T20I series between Australia and South Africa couldn't have been better with Mitchell Marsh hitting a six off the very first ball and a fan taking a one-handed blinder. Taking the catch wasn't the shocking part. The fan took the catch with his left hand while holding two cans of beer in his right hand. This incident left everyone in splits.

Even the commentators on AIR were ecstatic with the casual effort made by the fan in the stands. The point to be noted is that he wore a cap with a write-up saying, 'Good Day'. Well, it seems like he manifested his day because it was certainly 'good'. The catch certainly qualifies for the 'Best Catch of the Year'.
It happened in the 13th over of the first innings when Tim David was batting and was smashing the bowlers out of the park. When Corbin Bosch bowled a short-pitched delivery, David didn't wait for a second before pulling it over the square leg for a six. Despite the presence of a fielder there, the ball cleared the ropes with ease.
Australia didn't have a good start in the match, losing six wickets in eight overs. However, Cameron Green and Tim David stitched a 59-run partnership, giving some stability to the innings. Later, David kept carrying the momentum by smashing the bowlers out of the park.

Thanks to his 83 off 52 balls, Australia scored 178 runs in the first innings. The right-handed batter hit four boundaries and eight sixes and destroyed the Proteas bowling attack. South Africa's 19-year-old Kwena Maphaka picked up a four-wicket haul and was the most economical bowler for them, giving away just 20 runs in four overs.
As we write, South Africa need 56 runs in four overs to win the match with just three wickets in hand. Opener Ryan Rickelton is batting on 48, while Kagiso Rabada is at the non-striker's end. There are high chances of the Proteas winning the match, but since it's Australia's home ground, Mitchell Marsh will surely have some tactics left in his pocket.
