The bowler became famous for showcasing his unique actions after dismissing the batters in the IPL 2025. This time, he tried to play mind games with West Delhi's batter Ankit Kumar and it turned into a verbal argument. Rathi purposely pulled out of his delivery on the fifth ball. Later, Ankit did the same thing when Rathi was about to bowl. This incident led to an exchange of words between the two.
Moreover, his verbal spat backfired for him as Ankit Kumar hit two consecutive sixes off Rathi in the 5th over of the second innings. Then, when he came back with another spell, Ankit wasted no time and slammed two sixes, one over long-on, the other over deep mid-wicket, to teach the bowler a lesson.
The game started with South Delhi Superstarz winning the toss and choosing to bat first. The top-order batters played amazing knocks, helping the team reach 185 runs in the first innings. While Captain Ayush Badoni scored 48 off 25 balls, hitting four boundaries and two sixes, Kunwar Bidhuri scored 42 off 27 balls.
For West Delhi, Anirudh Chowdhary claimed three wickets. While the score was huge, the West Delhi boys didn't look to be bothered by the scoreboard. Ankit Kumar and Krish Yadav stitched a 158-run opening stand, putting the opponents under pressure.
While Ankit missed his century by just four runs, Krish scored 67 off 42 balls, including nine boundaries and two maximums. West Delhi Lions won the match quite comfortably by eight wickets. For an amazing knock, Ankit received the Player of the Match award.
