MS Dhoni addresses retirement speculation ahead of IPL 2026, admitting “it is difficult” and leaving fans guessing about his future with Chennai Super Kings.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are one of the most successful teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history, and MS Dhoni’s contributions are immense. Hence, whenever the word retirement comes up, the crowd gets anxious as they love the man and the way he has carried the team all these years. Now, during the CSK Roar ’ 26 event, Dhoni went on to reveal his upcoming plans for the future.

Actor Sivakarthikeyan urged the former skipper to play until the age of 60, as the fans love him and want to see him more. In response to it, Dhoni said that his fitness levels are going down, and it is difficult. However, he did mention that he would try and gave a cheeky smile on camera.
“It’s very difficult. It’s on the way down, it’s not on the way up….I can try,” said MS Dhoni during the CSK Roar’26 event.
Dhoni has played in 19 seasons of the tournament and has been with the team since its inception. He is one of the best players in the tournament and has performed well in all the seasons.

CSK is one of the strongest teams on paper with players like captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni, Dewald Brevis, Sanju Samson, and others. They might struggle hard in the bowling department, but the batting looks sorted for this season. If players like Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Choudhary, and other bowlers perform, things might go in a positive direction for the team.
