Former India captain Rohit Sharma, who is also the Brand Ambassador of ICC for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, started his preparations for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. While the Men in Blue are getting ready for the T20 World Cup final, Rohit now has set eyes on the sixth IPL title with the Mumbai Indians.

Rohit trains under Abhishek Nayar

Under the watchful eye of his longtime friend and former Mumbai teammate Abhishek Nayar Rohit spent the afternoon facing local pacers and academy bowlers at the iconic Shivaji Park. The open facility also made the fans watch the 'Hitman' in action form close quarters.

Rohit spent the afternoon perfecting his trademark sweeps and inside-out drives, looking lean and remarkably fit. Not only that, Rohit, who has scored the most T20I runs for India, was seen perfecting his pull shots and pick-up shots, which will come in handy during the IPL 2026.

Rohit has six IPL titles to his name, of which five came with Mumbai Indians. He has scored 7046 runs in 272 games at a strike rate of 132.10 in the IPL. However, he has not flourished with the bat in the last two seasons, scoring only 417 and 418 runs in the 2024 and 2025 seasonns respecitvely.
