In the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four match on September 21, India defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Abhishek Sharma was the player of the match for his 74 off 39 balls.

India had faced Pakistan in a T20I match last time in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2025. India won the match comfortbaly with six wickets in hands as they chased down 172 with 7 balls to go at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on 21 September 2025.

India won the toss and elected to bowl first as Pakistan made a chane in their batting line up and sent experienced Fakhar Zaman at the top order. Saim Ayub, who had already scored three ducks in the tournament, was dropped to number three position.
India started well with the wicket of Fakhar Zaman by Hardik Pandya, a costly three-ober spell by Jasprit Bumrah took Pakistan's powerplay score to 55/1.
Sahibzada Farhan scored a steady 58 from 45 balls while Faheem Ashraf added an unbeaten 20 from 8 balls to take Pakistan's first inning score to 171/5 in the first inning. Despite going slow in the middle overs, Pakistan were able to put a strong reply to India's bowling lineup.

Chasing 172, India went off to a flying start as Abhishek Sharma, the No.1 T20I batter in the world smashed Shaeen Shah Afridi for a huge six in the first ball of the inning. Shubman Gill also went after the Pakistani pacers as the duo added 105 in the 9.5 overs before Gill was cleaned up by Faheem Ashraf after 47 from 28 balls.
India lost the momentum after that with Suryakumar Yadav getting dismissed on duck. But Abhishek Sharma made sure he took India to a solid position with an entertaining 74 from 39 balls.

After Abhishek's deperture, the game was hanging in the balance and India lost Sanju Samson as well after a slow 13 from 17 balls. But it was Tilak Varma who stuck their and scored a fantastic unbeaten 30 from 19 balls to take India home in the match. With that win, India took a 12-6 lead over Pakistan in Asia Cup history.
