Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek are hot favourites to be in the final on Saturday

Aryna Sabalenka, Amanda Anisimova, Iga Swiatek and Belinda Bencic – four women on the precipice of Wimbledon glory, but only one will be crowned victor on Saturday. Sabalenka and Swiatek know what it’s like to win a Grand Slam, they have multiple crowns to their credit. For Ainismova and Bencic, though, it’s a different story.

The first semi-final on July 10 has Sabalenka facing Anisimova. The World No.1 will want to shrug off whatever nerves she felt during her quarter-final encounter against Laura Siegemund, which she almost conceded. Sabalenka was not at her A-game and Siegemund had exploited that and how. While Sabalenka came through in the end and managed a semi-final berth, it did not come with her finest on display.

First semi-final at 6 pm on Centre Court

Anisimova is in her first grand slam semi-final since 2019’s French Open, while Sabalenka was in the finals of both the Australian and French Open this year, but lost both. Wimbledon is a tournament that she’s never made past the semi-final so far and she will want to change that narrative this year. In the head-to-head record, interestingly, Anisimova is the one with the advantage, having won 5 of their 8 encounters. However, Sabalenka got the better of her recently at the French Open during their Round of 16 match. Sabalenka vs Anisimova is scheduled to start at 6.00 pm (IST) on Centre Court. The match can be streamed live on JioHotstar with OTTplay Premium.

The second semi-final on July 10 has Iga Swiatek and Belinda Bencic in action. Bencic’s Grand Slam record may pale in comparison to that of Swiatek, but she’s an Olympic gold medallist. Bencic is back on the tour following a maternity break that saw her out of action all of 2024. Like Bencic Swiatek, is also in her first-ever Wimbledon semi-final, but for the 5-time Grand Slam winner, it is about getting her name into the record book of the Club.

Wimbledon and the Australian Open are two titles that have evaded Swiatek and this year, she’s not made it past a semi-final in the grand slams. In fact, she’d lost to Sabalenka in Roland Garros, only weeks ago. Swiatek vs Bencic have a 4:1 head-to-head record. Their match is scheduled for 7.10 pm (IST) on Centre Court, but if Anisimova puts on a fight like Siegemund, it’s likely the match will begin much later.
