While rain has been a concern in recent days, forecasts suggest that the final should go ahead largely without major interruptions. According to ESPNcricinfo, the weather for Sunday looks “mostly clear”, though a few passing showers cannot be ruled out during the afternoon and early evening hours.

The Navi Mumbai weather is expected to remain hot and humid, with temperatures touching 35–37°C during the day and dropping to around 26°C by night. The risk of rain is expected to be around 20–30%, mostly between 2 PM and 6 PM, coinciding with the game’s prime hours. Fortunately, these are predicted to be short spells of drizzle rather than heavy downpours, meaning any interruptions should be brief.
The DY Patil Stadium’s drainage system has performed efficiently throughout the tournament, and curators are confident of ensuring quick resumption in case of light rain. However, if conditions worsen or play cannot be completed, the ICC has scheduled a reserve day (Monday, November 3) for the final. The reserve day rules allow the game to continue from the exact point it stopped, ensuring a fair outcome.
From a strategic standpoint, captains may look to factor in weather conditions when making toss decisions. Teams might prefer bowling first to take advantage of any moisture or to better manage the DLS (Duckworth-Lewis-Stern) method in case of rain interruptions.
