However, speaking about the pitch, Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav compared the Guwahati pitch to a road during the press conference. He bowled 29.1 overs and claimed four wickets. While it was not a good day for India with the ball, they will surely hope for a better day tomorrow. The batters have an entire day to bat and collect runs on day three. The wickets support the batters and there is no help for the bowlers.
"Kolkata ka wicket toh alag thaa. Yeh to pura road tha (Kolkata's wicket was different and this was a whole road). So it's challenging and that's why it's called a Test wicket," said Kuldeep at the press conference.

India’s spinner Kuldeep Yadav opened up about the batting track and also mentioned that it will be important to see how the bat performs tomorrow. He spoke about how difficult it was for the bowlers because of the moisture in the wicket. Overall, the Indian bat will have to score runs in the upcoming days to avoid a follow-on. This is an important game for India because they have already lost the first match.
"It is not always about domination but it is also very important how you come back on a good batting surface. It was a difficult wicket for the bowlers because I didn't feel that there was a lot of help in this wicket. Even for fast bowlers it didn't seem like a lot of help, but yeah, this is Test cricket and you should enjoy it. You should enjoy, learn more and the more you mature, you shouldn't think too much about the wicket. You should go there and play. Next Test, there could be a better wicket, so no complaints,” added Kuldeep.
