It was Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza's decision to bowl first after winning the toss. Oman lost early wickets and failed to score runs which is why they could only score 103 runs in the first innings. They didn't form partnerships in the powerplay and neither in the middle overs. The players kept losing wickets and the highest score was made by Vinayak Shukhla (28) towards the end of the innings.

On the other hand, Zimbabwe bowlers were outstanding with the ball. Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani, and Brad Evans troubled the batters and claimed three wickets each. Their spells were fantastic and were economical as well.

Brian Bennett's unbeaten knock helped Zimbabwe conquer first game

Zimbabwe batters had a low total to chase and Brian Bennett gave a brilliant start to the innings. He, along with Tadiwanashe Marumani, batted well, scoring runs in the powerplay. Zimbabwe only lost two wickets so far while chasing the small target. Meanwhile, Oman bowlers weren't of much help either. For an incredible bowling performance, Blessing Muzarabani won the Player of the Match Award.

"Yeah, it was really nice for us to get the first win out of the way. But now it’s just game by game. We’re focusing with more games, but I’m really happy for today. Not really. It’s just I’m coming from a little injury that I had in the back. So sometimes it gets in your head and you don’t want to push it. But yeah, just the same hard run-up. Yes, we got some bounce, so really happy," said Blessing.
