Disney+ Hotstar brings you some interesting movies and series to watch in February. From rom-coms to super-hero films, the popular streaming platform offers a wide range of films and shows to its viewers. Here are some of the new OTT releases on the streaming platform.
A Disney+ Hotstar OTT release, Lavanya Tripathi-starrer Miss Perfect is a romantic comedy that will start streaming on February 2. In this web series helmed by Vishvak Kadherao, Lavanya portrays a cleanliness freak who goes by the name Miss Perfect. A management consultant by profession, her life takes an unexpected turn during the Covid-19 pandemic. A game of cat and mouse starts when someone misidentifies her and what follows thereafter makes the plot of the story. Abhijeet, a Bigg Boss celebrity, also plays the lead role in Miss Perfect. Moreover, veteran supporting actors Jhansi and Harshvardhan will also be seen in the series.
Disney+ Hotstar is here to save the day if you missed The Marvels in theatres last year. November of last year saw the theatre release of all-female superhero movie, The Marvels. The superhero film, directed by Nia DaCosta, stars Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel, and Brie Larson as Captain Marvel.
The three main protagonists embark on an intergalactic journey to preserve the universe. Expect stunning sights and heroic manoeuvres as they confront a menace capable of transforming whole galaxies. The Marvel Studios' film will be available on Disney+ Hotstar on February 7.
Aarya Season 3 – Antim Vaar
Disney+ Hotstar’s Aarya is a crime thriller drama featuring Sushmita Sen and Sikandar Kher in pivotal roles. This Ram Madhvani directed web series, based on the Dutch drama series Penoza, takes us on a gripping journey of a widow seeking revenge against those who killed her husband played by Chandrachur Singh in Season 1 of the series. Sushmita Sen made her digital debut and her much-lauded comeback through the series in March 2020. Cut to four years later, Sen's Aarya Sareen experiences a suspenseful finale in the third season as she is attacked by one of her competitors. The mother and widow have battled against everyone, but this time she is cut off from her family. On February 9, the drama series reaches an intense finish.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3
The final and third season trailer for Star Wars: The Bad Batch released a few days back, hinting towards a big potential time shift for the show. With Tech's death, season 2 of The Bad Batch came to an abrupt end when Dr. Royce Hemlock kidnapped Omega and took him to his secret cloning lab on Mount Tantiss, where he also held Crosshair. The Bad Batch's last season premiering on Disney+ Hotstar on February 21 opens with Clone Force 99 battling the recently established Empire and their position in a galaxy undergoing drastic transformations. Asajj Ventress, a beloved character who was last seen dead, is also making a comeback. Since this is Star Wars, anything is possible you see!
From James Clavell's 2018 novel of the same name, a Japanese series titled Shogun is set in 2024. Historical drama enthusiasts won't want to miss this series which is releasing on Disney+ Hotstar on February 27. Explore the land of Japan and see how two cultures collide and how a renowned warrior rises to power. The story revolves around Yoshii Toranaga, who gets into difficulty and ends up in peril. In this 1600s Japan, Toranaga must contend with the formidable coalition of his adversaries, the Council of Rulers, who stand ready to subdue him. A weird European ship unexplainably shows up on the beaches of a small town under horrifying circumstances. Though its history and significance are yet unknown, this ship has the power to drastically alter Toranaga's course in the narrative and how.
The brand-new six-part series "Iwaju," which will only be available on Disney+ Hotstar, will premiere on February 28, according to a release announcement made by Walt Disney and the pan-African entertainment company Kugali. A compelling image of a futuristic Lagos with an intriguing interplay between the more affluent island and the heavily crowded mainland is promised by the series. The documentary Iwájë: A Day Ahead, which is about the three founders of Kugali, premieres on the same day.
