Pippa marks the first major release of Ishaan Khatter, and it's set to premiere on Prime Video on November 10, 2023. In the film, the actor plays the role of Captain Balram Singh Mehta. In a time where many actors are having multiple releases a year, Ishaan is having his big release after Phone Bhoot, which hit the big screen in 2022. During an exclusive interaction with OTTplay, the actor was asked if it has been a matter of concern for him to have a release after a very long time.

Ishaan Khatter's perspective on release timing

Ishaan told us, "In a comparative way, as much as in a sense of, of course, when something takes time, like he (director Raja Krishna Menon) said, it can be emotionally draining. But I think what's more important is that the film comes out the right way and at the right time. It takes a lot for that to happen, and it's not always in your control; these things are outside of my purview, right?"

The actor further shared, "As a young actor, I don't have much control over them. So I've been experiencing my journey with it; I've had my ups and downs, and I've had my learnings. But I don't think that it's so much about comparison—that, Oh, somebody's having some release or something."

Confidence and urgency for future projects

About doing more work, Ishaan went on to say, "I am feeling more and more urgency and the need to do more work as I go forward. Because I think earlier, I didn't have that assurance in myself that I would be able to deliver despite doing more work—less volume, more volume. Earlier, for me, it was very important that I give everything that I have to offer, and it will remain that way."

The Dhadak actor also added that there will be less of a gap between the two projects in the coming year. He said, "But I think now I have the confidence and assurance that, 'Hey, I know, my work,' at least from the experience that I've had, I am now ready to back myself, and I'm ready to take more plunges and not put a 'rukaavat' on myself. I still would much prefer to do one film at a time so that my characters don't link into each other. But I am definitely energised to do more and more work. So hopefully, I'll build that momentum, and in the year to come, you will see more work with less time and in between. But you have to like the work and encourage it."

Pippa also stars Mrunal Thakur, Priyanshu Painyuli, and Soni Razdan in pivotal roles.
