Anupriya Goenka is the only actor in the YRF Spy Universe who has played two different characters. The actor was seen in the role of a nurse, Poorna, in Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), who, among other nurses, is held hostage by the ISC, a terrorist organisation in Iraq. While in War, she was seen as R&AW agent Aditi alongside Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. During an exclusive interview with OTTplay, the actor was asked to choose between both characters and which one she would like to reprise on screen.

Fondness for Tiger Zinda Hai and character Poorna:

Anupriya started off by saying, "I look at characters more, like my fondness for them comes more from the entire journey of going through that process and as to what frame of mind I was in at that time. So, Tiger Zinda Hai is very special for me and always will be. I think it will be very special for me because it was my first big project, and YRF felt like home with the way they treated all of us, irrespective of what each one of us was doing. It was the first time I was out of the country for about a month and a half with the crew, and we did it all in one go; that was very special. Generally, we do it over a course of six to eight months."

She further explained the vibe on the sets by stating, "So, it had a different charm, all in one place, in one environment. The 7-8 actors of ours became very good friends. So, I remember that time a lot when I think about Tiger Zinda Hai and Poorna. It was the first time I was working in a full commercial setup. Everyone used to say to me, 'You're an OTT actor who has also done films.' But I feel like both of my things almost coincided."

Parallel journey in big-budget films and OTT

Talking about her shift to big-budget projects and also working on OTT simultaneously, Anupriya went on to share, "It was running very parallelly, which was also very amusing because I was doing these big-budget films and doing OTT and seeing both the mediums and ads at the same time. I would rather say I was an ad actor who started doing content more because I came from the ad world for the first three-four years; that's what's run my kitchen. So ads are a very different take, though. Of course, I did Telugu movies; I did Daddy and Bobby Jasoos. But the actual content shift started post-Tiger Zinda Hai and Padmaavat, and then the OTT life started somewhere in 2018. So it was all very coincidental, and Poorna is close to me for the character and the universe because of the camaraderie that I was sharing with my co-actor, Salman Sir, and the experience."

Take on War:

On work in War, the actor added, "War is very close to my heart because it was really fun working with Hrithik and Tiger. Siddharth is a very fun director; he's always jumping, and he always has a rhythm. It was very cool; there was nothing like it, because intense scenes weren't so intense that I had to cry. In this, my journey was different because I had to be stylized but real, in my opinion. So that was an interesting aspect. Plus, it was a chill scene; everything was cool, fun, nice, and easy. There was action; it was a glam in some sense in War. I can't pick between the two."

However, when once again prompted to choose between Tiger Zinda Hai and War, Anupriya revealed, "I can only reprise Aditi; I don't think I'll ever be able to reprise Poorna, for sure."

Hope for War 2:

Interestingly, she was asked if she would be a part of War 2 with Hrithik and Jr. NTR, to which the actor replied, "I'm not saying that; I don't know. I really hope I am. I will be very heartbroken if I am not."
