Karan Johar's The Traitors India season 1 has been going super engaging as every episode has drama, arguments, and betrayals. While contestants claim that Uorfi Javed has the manipulation power to gain everyone's vote against the person whom she thinks should be eliminated, Janvee Gaurr hardly gets attention inside the palace. However, Janvee was eliminated recently, and during her stunt inside the palace, she always used to have arguments with almost every contestant, especially Maheep Kapoor, as both of them used to think they were the traitors. Following her eviction, Janvee had an exclusive chat with OTTplay where she opened up about various topics regarding The Traitors, cold war with Maheep Kapoor, Harsh Gujral's 'kaala jaadu' statement, and more.

Excerpts from Janvee Gaurr interview

Janvee Gaurr on doing The Traitors

Speaking about the experience of doing The Traitors, Janvee Gaurr told us, "It was fabulous. At the age of 50, when something like this comes to you, so yeah, childhood memories, games, fights, arguments, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and every day to get ready, very fun and glamorous. It was a very mixed bag of everything, but I enjoyed every second of it, like there is nothing I would like to take back."

"I have seen The Traitors UK, US, but I don't think those are as much spicier as The Traitors India. It has an amazing cocktail and I think the 20 of us, except one or two, were a beautiful mixed bag."

Janvee Gaurr on what made her say yes to The Traitors

"In real life, I am a very 'yes' person, and I think I barely say the word 'no'. It's only when I am irritated with something, but I am a very 'yes' person. I say yes to most of the things and I am tarot reader and I always knew that my time of fame has come and I had been offered a few shows last year but I was not sure but then this (The Traitors) came along and I was like 'yes I am doing this show definitely." She also said that she is a sporty person, hence thinks the show was made for her.

Janvee Gaurr on whether she relied on her spiritual energy to identify the traitors

"In the first episode, I didn't need any sixth sense for Raj Kundra because he placed him on the platter that he is the traitor. He was too good to be true. He was talking so crap about me but said, "I like your trousers Janvee Ji" and I am like 'no my trousers are not nice. I don't like them. why do you like them?" So things like this make things obvious. In the first episode, I told everybody that I think Elnaaz Norouzi is the traitor. I told Elnaaz on the face that I think you are a traitor. I also saw on the tarot that Purav Jha is the traitor. But I did not want to check the tarot every day, and I wanted to be in the game.

Janvee Gaurr on Harsh Gujral's 'kaala jaadu' statement

"People say we are playing women's card, but we are not, I am just playing the facts straight. When a woman is successful in many things, you are accused of you are doing very well in this field.

As an astrologer, I hear this a lot because when a client is happy with your service, the enemies of that person say 'oh, you go to that lady and do the kaala jaadu' so I hear that crap a lot but I don;t really care but what happened on that particular day as I was not the traitor so I was already finding reasons from everyone where I would act funny that I don't wanna talk because I wanted to show them that I am not the traitor, I am taking a fight with everybody but Harsh made that fight and gave me and told, "You do kaala jaadu, you did that jaadu-tona on me" I didn't really care about it but thought of making a scene and I got a free pass for 6 nights because of that.

But the next day, I had a nice chat with Harsh and told him that it was my game strategy. He is a great guy. He did not mean it maliciously. But i took advantage of it, silly of me but it was a game of survival (smiles)."

Janvee Gaurr on Maheep Kapoor

Speaking about the experience of playing games in The Traitors, Janvee said that she had a lot of fun and added, "Maheep abused me. She said a very foul word to me but it was all fine and did not affect a lot. One should stir the pot. I am not a flat line so my presence was enough for them. I was there and people were irritated by me so it's fine. It's good. It says a lot about me and a lot less about them."

Janvee Gaurr on The Traitors 2

When asked whether we will see Janvee in The Traitors India 2 or not, she laughed and added, "I don't think they are calling me. I have absolutely, hundred percent faith that I am not getting a call to return to Season 2, but if I do, why not, I will definitely do it. But I don't think something like this will happen. I will check on the tarot but I have not seen something like this (smiles)."

Janvee Gaurr on who can win The Traitors season 1

"I cannot say that. I would be happy if Harsh or Apoorva won the game, but Apoorva did not. But I can't talk about who is going to win or something. If I had won, I would have been happy, would have been happy if Apoorva, Sufi, or Harsh could win. Ashish Vidyarthi was sleeping a lot, and Sudhanshu Pandey was also quiet. I would definitely want my friends to win for sure. I am very clear about that."

Meanwhile, The Traitors finale episode will drop on Prime Video on July 3 at 8 p.m. with 7 contestants, including two traitors. They are Apoorva Mukhija, Purav Jha (traitor), Harsh Gujral (traitor), Uorfi Javed, Jasmin Bhasin, Nikita Luther, and Sudhanshu Pandey.
